Love in the Afternoon
The story is about Beatrix Hathaway, lover of animals and nature, and Christopher Phelan, a world-weary captain. What started out as a deceitful exchange of letters turns out to be a passion-filled story of unfulfilled love.
This was actually a gift and I learned that it was part of a series (Lisa Kleypas’ Hathaway Sisters). I think it was the last book of the series, ha-ha. Anyway, I was shocked when I read this because it was my first time to read books like this. I don’t know how to call it. Let’s say ‘colorful’, then? Ha-ha. Regardless of the shock, I enjoyed the book quite well. The ‘scenes’ were not so vulgar yet masterfully written. This was, over-all, an ‘okay’ book. I give it three stars! :)
THE VERDICT:
The story was great and original (given the numerous vampire/immortal books right now) and very refreshing.
The style of the author was good. It pulls you in, makes you jumbled in with the plot and the characters.
I will definitely try to read more of Lisa Kleypas’ books but this one, unfortunately, does not break my favorites list.
Work on Christmas Eve

Finally! I finished covering all my books! Yay! That’s one less thing to do before 2010 ends.
I was really busy since first sem started and eventually, after six long months, I found time to cover all my books. I also saw a lot of books I miss (which I’m going to reread haha) and few which I haven’t read yet.
So watch out for my first book post (probably later or tomorrow since my hands are tired from all the work done.) BTW, I ate half a box of Goldilocks’ Choco and Butter Macaroons while covering! I know I’m not supposed to eat the chocolate ones (I have this very bad allergic reaction to chocolates, chicken, eggs & nuts) but they’re really irresistible!
